Just had to make a comment for Lessah ;)

Now I know you've never been huge into the raiding but losing gear is a massive slap in the face.

I have 8 characters on Keeper and between them there is 12 greensteels (most min 2's), about 60-70 raid items and then a load of unbound named items. To get back to that level would take much longer (months and months) than levelling the same characters to lvl 20.

Level of character is easy to regain it, I had it done on Thelanis in 2 months.....the items though would be a painful kick in the groin

Very interesting comment. All I know is AC seems mostly worthless in DDO unless you really focus on it.

I was thinking about the AC window problem. Theoretically I think AC doesn't really behave like a 20-point window but more like a bell curve. Since players have multiple attacks with increasing attack bonuses within a sequence there's a spread of meaningful ACs for each. This should be the same for AC; your 30 AC may always fail against a mob's +40 attack, but against his 5th best attack of +20, you'll have a 50% shot of dodging (summing over all his attacks that would result in dodging 15% of his attacks). At least that's how the core mechanics handle this problem, maybe it's not correctly implemented or maybe this effect is just not strong enough, but it's theoretically there. (My guess is that the opponent attack sequence is not long enough, if they'd drag it all the way down to +5, your 20AC might shrug off quite some damage compared to a 12AC)

I think Turbine knew these were in the works for quite a while, considering the price points. At $10 and $25, the fill out the price options for points very well. The 420 point bundle is 1.5 cents per point, compared to the 1 cent per point of the 5000 point bundle. While the 750 point card isn't much better at 1.33 cents per point, it is half the price of the 1550 bundle, and I'd imagine those that don't buy the 1550 bundle would buy the 750.
