No T@E3, A Table to Visit...

Interesting bit of news on Turbine's E3 plans, or not...

Massively.com has an interview with Turbine spokesman Adam Mersky, where he explains why the company won't be at E3 but will be at GenCon and PAX.  There's also some interesting stuff on Turbine's big money plans.  Here's a LINK to the article.

This is totally not related to DDO, but just thought I'd pass along this interesting bit about GenCon.  Got this from the GenCon folks through their email "send me info" stuff:

Tower of Gygax

In 1974, E. Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson introduced the world to Dungeons & Dragons. The game has taken many forms over the last 34 years, and over the decades it has inspired new styles of games, from pen and paper role-playing to card games and computer games. Gygax and Arneson opened the door to new realms of the imagination, and to honor the memory of E. Gary Gygax we want to take a step back into the history of Dungeons and Dragons.

In the far reaches of the world, hidden on hostile peak, the sinister TOWER OF GYGAX rises towards the heavens. Once home to the greatest wizard of all time, the tower is filled with terrible traps, strange and ferocious monsters, and rich and magical treasures. Today a new generation of heroes has found the tower and dreams of the wonders within – but will any of them survive?

The Tower of Gygax gives players a quick and deadly glimpse of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. Return to the days when rogues were called "thieves", and what looks like an innocent cave might actually be a sphere of annihilation. No experience with AD&D is required to take part in the event, just a sense of humor and a lack of fear. Come take your chances in the Tower of Gygax – whether you die in the first five minutes or live to tell the tale, we hope you'll enjoy the experience!

The event will run 24 hours a day (from 10 am on Thursday through 3 pm on Sunday) in room 115 in the convention center – a session begins every hour so sign up for a slot to reserve your space or just swing by to remember Gary and hop into a session. There is always room for a few more gamers.

We’re always looking for a few more GMs, too! If you have a few hours free and would like to get involved and run some of your fellow gamers through an ever-changing and evolving Gygaxian dungeon, email events(((at)))gencon.com with your availability.
Event IDs are RPG01972 and RPG01977 through RPG02052. Check out the event charts for full details.

Count me in!
