This is it! We're pleased to say that Episode 53 of DDOcast is now ready! This is a biggie: Besides the debut of "Ask the Devs", the whole gang gets together to celebrate the podcast's one-year anniversary!

Poor Rowenheal, for the skins put them in \My Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online\ui\skins\ and them login and goto the UI Settings on the Options Panel and down on the bottom is the Current User Skin selection box.

At time mark 58 min, the topic was about perm damage and binding.
Raid items and some special quest items are bound. This is "bound"
"Bound" is not the same as "Bound and Attuned" which is what the alter does when you bind it there.
"BaA" is what keeps your items from taking perm damage.
On death, the only items that take damage are the ones you are wearing.
Whenever you are hit, there is ALWAYS the chance any item (worn or in inventory) can take damage. In PnP if you fail a save on a 1, your equipment makes a save to see if it takes damage. Not all DMs do this, but it is there. More than likely, this is what happened to the sorc in question.
And yes, /death in bars causes no item damage.
