DDOcast Episode 30!
Hi everyone! I'm getting settled in in Minnesota now, so the site should be updated more frequently starting the middle of next week.
This week's episode of DDOcast features a special guest host - Rheebus! Thanks Rheebus for helping out. The show features Merlask's DDOcast goodbye, Rowanheal's latest on stuff with "Girl Gamers", more news about Mod 5 and more!
You can find the show on the right side of the screen in the episode list, or just left click to play, right click and "save as" to download the mp3 HERE.
As always, thanks for listening.

So, there's a ton of cool new DDO-related videos hitting the web this week. First up is Ghoste's video on YouTube:
Up next is a cool PvP battle put together by Nexx:
Here's the LINK to the video on YouTube.
And finally, here's a link to the interview mentioned in Rowanheal's segment this week about Gamer Zero's YouTube video interview with Shelly Mazzanoble, who is putting together a book about gaming:
Here's a LINKto the place to get the book on Amazon. I have nothing to do with the book, the publisher, Amazon or anything else, just putting it up in case someone is interested.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT DDOCAST:
Sorry, it had to happen sometime. I had been paying $5 per month to host up to 500mb of files on the podcast hosting service, then that filled up in the late spring. Then I paid $10 per month to host up to a gig of files.....
....and I'm now once again out of room. This is going to constantly be a problem unless I somehow get lifetime unlimited hosting on the 'net, which isn't gonna happen any time soon. So, I was faced with a choice of either starting to pay $20 per month to host up to 2 gigs or begin yanking the earliest episodes off of the RSS feed (aka - taking them off the net). I've opted for the latter. Mostly it's because if I did decide to pay the extra fee, that would still only last me another 5-6 months, then I'd still be back to where I am now.
What does this mean? That means you might want to download the earliest episodes this week, cuz they'll be going away. I've still got them backed up on my home computer, so they're not gone for good, just going away for now. At some point I'll figure out a better plan, but for now....
Ya know, I'm actually pretty surprised that people still like to listen to the earliest episodes. I never expected that people would download them. I figured "hey - it's really old news by this point, who'd want to listen to it?!?" But although they obviously don't get the same number of weekly listens as the new stuff, about a half-dozen people do download them every week, so for those folks, I'm really sorry to have to start cutting the episodes down.

As always, feel free to comment below or on the DDOcast forums. Thanks!

Where's the blog link for the LOTR Online Tour?

Glad to hear they are adding raid loot chances to Mod5 raid loot to address some user feedback. The Stormreaver raid does have a 3day timer just like the others. However, there is no rekeying or preraid quest. Some players were able to rerun the quest more often than intended, but that is now being fixed.

Hi there! I was listening to episode 30 that you're having trouble hosting your files for your podcast. I'm sure many of us would love to help you. Is there a way for fans to subscribe to your service as a way of donating money? I know PayPal allows subscription features for vendors. I'm just suggesting because even at $1 a month if you can get 10 people to subscribe would cover your file storage costs.

Thanks Anne for making the suggestion, but I'm keeping DDOcast completely free and have no plans to have people offer tips and the like. It's something I've considered before, but I prefer to be completely pitch-free, even if I know there are people willing to offer up a few bucks a month. Not sure why, exactly, just doesn't seem like something I want to do right now. It's not so much that I don't have the money as I'm trying to keep costs for the show as low as possible, so it never becomes an issue.
I think eventually (soon) I may switch to Libsyn or another hosting service that sets things up a bit differently.
DARMOOR: Sorry, forgot to post the link. It's been added.
